Careers at sedc.
Since 2003, we have been planning building services and laboratories in Basel that are technically convincing and make economic sense. Our team is small; the projects often are not: laboratory buildings, pharmaceutical production, energy supply for entire sites. If you want to take on responsibility and think beyond your own trade, we would be glad to get to know you.
Profiles we are always glad to hear from – currently no advertised vacancy.
How we work
What you can expect with us.
- All trades around one table
We bring heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and building automation together in one team. You coordinate early with the other disciplines instead of only discovering interfaces on the construction site. That way you see how your part works in the building as a whole.
- Demanding laboratory and pharma projects
Our clients come from pharma, biotech, industry and research: laboratories, cleanrooms, containment, technical media and low-temperature energy supply. You work on new research buildings and laboratory buildings and get to know requirements that are not planned everywhere.
- Responsibility with short lines of communication
We rely on trust, open communication and clearly agreed goals. Responsibility is delegated, not just distributed, and management lives these values itself. In a compact team, you work directly with the heads of department and the management.
- Sharing knowledge: Technik Praxis
Further training and knowledge sharing are part of our everyday work. In the “Technik Praxis” series, we record how we assess laboratory ventilation, refrigeration and energy systems, such as pressure cascades in containment or waste heat from data centres. Anyone who plans with us helps write down this knowledge and passes it on.
Das Team
Who you work with.

From our day-to-day work
More than projects.
Framework
What we offer you.

Part-time is possible – we agree the workload with you.
- Home office
Working from home is possible, in line with the project and the team.
- Further training
We support further training, including part-time courses such as CAS or MAS.
- Getting started
Apprentices and interns are welcome with us.
Profiles
Who we are always glad to get to know.
- Project manager HVAC (& plumbing)
You lead building services projects from the concept phase through to commissioning, coordinate the trades and are the contact person for the client. Experience with laboratory, pharma or industrial buildings helps but is not a requirement.
- Specialist planner laboratory and cleanroom
You plan laboratories, cleanrooms and technical media and translate users' requirements into space, ventilation and installation. You work closely with our Laboratory / Industry department and the building services team.
- Specialist planner electrical and building automation
You plan electrical, I&C and building automation and make sure that the other trades' systems work together reliably.
- Speculative application
You don't fit any of these profiles but bring experience or interest in building services, laboratory planning, coordination or BIM? Write to us anyway and tell us what you would like to work on.
Application
We are not currently advertising any vacancies. We would still be pleased to receive your application, by email and without a form.
- Send us your CV, references and a few sentences about yourself to info@sedc.ch.
- Alvaro Gonzalez, our CEO, reads every application himself. You will hear from us within 14 days.
- You get to know the team and our projects in Basel, then we decide together.
sedc belongs to a group with silent (cloud and AI for companies), dinx (cloud services for SMEs), xfab (modular construction) and iduia (consulting on processes and organisation), which is why some projects reach beyond building services.
